A caffeine-free pick me up that also keeps you sane through the cold days in winter. Creamy, lightly sweetened turmeric latte that is inspired by Indian turmeric milk (“haldi doodh”). Traditionally made with whole milk, but this one is substituted with some dairy-free milk. This can be made with whole ginger and spices if you have them on hand too.

Turmeric is very popular for its anti-inflammatory benefit. And it’s best absorbed with the help of both fat and black pepper. For people that don’t like the taste of turmeric, it helps to use a smaller amount.

- 2 1/2 cups unsweetened oat milk or other plant based milk you love

- 3/4 tsp to 1 tsp ground turmeric

- 1/4 tsp ground ginger

- 1/4 tsp or 1/2 tsp cinnamon

- 1/8 tsp or pinch of cardamom

- Pinch of black pepper

- 2 tsp or more of maple syrup

Place all the ingredients in a sauce pan and whisk to combine. Heat through on low heat and you can blend it in a blender until smooth. Optional to froth some extra milk on top. Makes 2 servings.
